I’m Leslie
I’m a writer and entrepreneur who loves Jesus and is trying to follow Him in the way I live, lead and work.
Living out our faith in business can be complicated. Holding on to our integrity and doing what is right doesn’t always bring recognition or reward. Sometimes it costs us opportunities, income or relationships—and knowing we made the right decision doesn’t make the cost easy to bear.
As a woman in business and leadership, I’ve struggled to find a space where I can speak honestly about those moments. The days when fear, uncertainty and anxiety creep in. When I’m carrying responsibility, questioning a decision or needing someone to pray with me.
I created The Work of Staying in the hope of finding other women who recognise these experiences. Women trying to stay rooted in Jesus as they lead teams, build businesses and make difficult decisions.
My hope is that we can make room for one another here: to share honestly, turn to Scripture, pray together and remember that we don’t have to carry it all alone.

About The Work of Staying
The Work of Staying is a space for Christian women in business, leadership and management who want to remain rooted in Christ as they lead, serve and build.
I believe our work is a gift and a responsibility. The way we use our abilities, treat people and make decisions can bear witness to the God we serve. Faith belongs in our everyday work—in the conversations, commitments and choices that shape how we show up.
But living out that faith is not always easy. Sometimes holding to our convictions means losing a client, ending a contract or declining an opportunity. Doing what we believe honours God does not spare us the financial consequences, uncertainty or loneliness that may follow. We can trust Him and still feel the weight of those decisions.
Why “The Work of Staying”?
Staying grounded takes work. Staying faithful takes work. Staying tenderhearted when we are disappointed, truthful when compromise would be easier, and attentive to God when life grows noisy—all of this asks something of us.
The name speaks to that daily practice: returning to prayer, spending time in Scripture, examining our motives, seeking wisdom and allowing God to shape how we live and work.
In John 15:4–5, Jesus calls His disciples to abide in Him, describing Himself as the vine and them as the branches. That image sits at the heart of this space. Our strength and fruitfulness depend on our connection to Him. The work of staying begins with receiving His grace and learning to remain close.
Here, we make room for honest conversations about faith, work and responsibility. We pray, reflect and encourage one another through the decisions whose cost is often unseen.
I am walking this road too. My hope is that you will find companionship here—and, in time, a community where we can meet, pray together and support one another in the work of staying.
